I am a new face at East K-7 this year but come with eleven years of experience working for Godfrey-Lee Public Schools, where I taught kindergarten for seven years and also directed the district's gifted and talented program for four years. I am excited to be back in my hometown of Holland.
I have a bachelor's degree in education from Alma College and a master's degree in gifted and talented education from Grand Valley State University. I have also taken a number of courses through Marygrove College and spent the summer of 2012 working as a guest fellow with the National Writing Project.
My husband and I celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary this summer. We have two daughters and two cats. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy writing, reading, and sports, especially figure skating and hockey.
